Taystful Mini Chocolate Showpiece Course 31st March 2019

£ 200.00
Quantity:

Come along and learn some of the secrets to making a stunning chocolate display piece!

On the day we will be covering the techniques on how to make the main structure, chocolate flowers, leaves, free form creations and granite effect plinths. We will also be using coloured cocoa butter in various ways to give contrast to your centrepiece!

You will be able to take home your finished display piece of at least 50cm in height to impress your friends and family (NB, they are fragile, so there are no guarantees of them arriving home in one piece!).

Students should have previous experience working with chocolate, and be ready for a very intensive, focused day of work, spent mainly on your feet.

There is a maximum of 3 people taken on the course, so you'll get plenty of guidance and attention!

Restrictions: This course is only available to those over 16 years of age.

NB. Although the showpiece is made for display rather than eating, please be aware that ingredients we use will contain: soya lecithin and milk. Traces of gluten, nuts, eggs or peanuts may also be present and are regularly used on the premises. Artificial colourings will also be used.

Once booked, check your spam box and add us to your safe senders or contacts if you can't see a reply in your main inbox.

This course is taught by Shona Sutherland, winner of the Chocolate Category of the Scottish Baking Awards 2014, the Chocolate Category of the National Chocolate Awards at the Perth Chocolate Festival 2014, Gold Medal and Best in Class Winner at the Scottish Culinary Championships in the Chocolate Display Class at ScotHot 2015 and Gold and Silver Medal winner for filled chocolates at ScotHot 2017, and member of the Scottish Culinary Team.

Price per person: £200

Time: 9am until 6pm (but could be later depending on focus of attendees)

Venue: Taystful, 1A High Street, Blairgowrie, PH10 6ET.

Bring a snack lunch (and tea if you think you'll need it!) to have during the day. Food is also available to buy locally. Wear comfortable kitchen safe shoes (no open toes or slippy soles). Aprons will be supplied. The kitchen can sometimes feel cooler than the outside temperature, so unless mid summer, bring an extra layer!

Courses terms of sale:

Only once payment is made is your place reserved on the course. Unfortunately we cannot refund course payments if an attendee cancels and a replacement attendee cannot be found. At the discretion of Taystful, in some circumstances, the payment may be transferred to another course. Refunds of course payments will be made if the course is cancelled by Taystful. If courses are not filled there is a possibility of a course not going ahead, but we will try our best to have the course running regardless! You will be informed of this if it happens and refunded money paid for the course.
